This is the second book I have read by this author (Heather Huffman), with the first being "Jailbird". Honestly, I much preferred "Jailbird", but thought that this too was a good read. This book has an optimistic beginning, starting with the protagonist searching for and following her dream. The reader goes on this journey with her as she searches for her dream and encounters various obstacles on the way. Many readers who are trying to discover their dream or change careers etc would be able to relate to this. The book is full of suspense and keeps the reader interested till the end. In fact, I was intrigued from the very first page and wanted to know more about why Caleb was being treated like that. The main characters are well developed and for the most part the plot is well-developed. The problem was that parts of the ending felt rushed - which was a shame because the rest of the book was anything but rushed. An example of something towards the end that felt very rushed was the sudden dramatic change of behaviour of one character, which was unconvincing. Overall, a good read.
