I have not yet been able to read through the whole book. It contains such an amount of information that it is not an easy reading. However, when I need to find out some solution, I usually find it. And it's not only a recipe, you will get an understanding of how the system operates, which is the structure, the reasoning behind it. So, it's not just a "do this" book, but a "if you do this, this will happen, because of that" piece.

After reading the book, I found that the title is really misleading. The book looks like cut-and-pasted, with many things being repeated over and over, mostly promises about new features in the product, never fully described, not much practical information given. Most of the book seems to have been written before IIS 7 was available, and being so, it won't get into intricacies, into tips for solving practical, day-to-day difficulties.
I wouldn't recommend it.
However, I should say I found something useful that was unknown to me: an appendix in the book (talking about IIS 6, not IIS 7), explains how to use the Log Parser tool from Microsoft. That tool I found it to be comparatively… Read more
