Very good, solid racket. Very light for a greater variety of shots, and strings are very robust. The only problem was the grip, which I've experienced with most new rackets I buy. Are they for decoration? When you are playing for long periods the sweat from your hands makes it impossible to play decent shots. My advice would be to buy a grip (Karakal would be my choice), and replace it as soon as you get it. Otherwise, very happy.
The old Daft Punk are gone, transformed over the last fews years into something altogether more mature and considered. The French House has been replaced with a retro-style which goes back to the days of Steely Dan and Chic, and is a nice contrast to their earlier work. At first I wasn't sure what to think about the album. I thought that some of the songs were too long (Giorgio by Moroder and Touch are more than 8 minutes apiece), and others were too cheesy (The Game of Love). But that was only with a cursory listen, and having replayed it many times since, I'm beginning to enjoy the little details put into each song. The concept song Giorgio by Moroder overlays some synth melodies to the… Read more
Everything of note about this book has already been said, but suffice to say, I loved it. Some people have said they didn't like the length, which was too short. I disagree. As an introduction to a complex field, ABHOT succeeds marvelously at hooking you and explaining difficult concepts. Most importantly, it doesn't drag, nor involves cumbersome mathematics. The latter might not be a problem for competent mathematicians, but I am not one. As such, it does not suffer from the same problems that Penrose's 'Cycles of Time', or 'The Road to Reality' face. From special and general relativity, Minkowski spacetime, black holes and information loss (now solved through complementarity), and quantum… Read more
