This is the first novel by Lynn O’Reilly about Finn Paterson who is an ex-marine living in Morpeth (my neck of the woods) whose wife fails to return home one evening after work – he sets off on a journey to Edinburgh to find out what has happened to her, only to be drawn into a kidnapping and blackmailing attempt.

I found this a great read and wondered how all the different people fitted into it – they all came together later in the book. It is one of those books that you just can’t put down once you start reading it. The book is well written but I did notice a few mistakes in the text which the proof reader failed to notice.

After reading the other two books by Sam Christer - The Stonehenge Legacy and The Turin Shroud I couldn't wait to read his latest novel. The Camelot Code is a thriller based on the legend of King Arthur. Mitzi Fallon an investigator working for the FBI is brought in to investigate the murder of an antiques dealer who had a priceless Celtic artefact stolen from him. The story jots between various places including Wales, London, San Francisco and California.
