You know you can download a sample to see if the book's worth buying, you're just reading this to see if it's worth trying the sample. It is! Sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic, and in some places "sufficiently advanced" means an Apple IIe. A fun fantasy story which really finds its feed once it gets the early explanation out of the way. It also answers the most important questions of omnipotent power: what would you do if you could do anything? And how would you respond when they almost immediately tried to arrest you?

5.0 out of 5 stars Mind-altering fun, 23 July 2013
A good story is to take you into a new world. This book takes you into a world full of characters who have also been taken into new worlds, words where Abraham Lincoln fights dinosaurs, where knocking on your neighbour's door means blowing up three flats, and where you satisfy and become your own serious sexual problems. It's a demented dystopia of greed, drugs, and more of both and a lot more fun besides.

Anyone who's ever woken up with a hangover will sympathise with the struggle of the main character. And anyone who's ever gotten drunk in the first place will appreciate the flow and fun of the adventure.
