Knight and Day [Blu-ray] Blu-ray ~ Tom Cruise
Knight and Day [Blu-ray] Blu-ray ~ Tom Cruise
4.0 out of 5 stars Knight & Day, 20 April 2012
I was pleasantly surprised by this film. I'd been disappointed by similar efforts like The Tourist and Mr & Mrs Smith but Knight & Day succeeded because it doesn't take itself too seriously. Its like a Jason Statham film but with Tom Cruise in the lead. Both Cruise and Diaz show great comic timing and are easy to like. The stunts are over-the-top fun too. The plot is fairly lightweight but when a film is this much fun I can happily forgive that. Good fun.

2.0 out of 5 stars A real let down, 5 Feb 2012
Breaking Dawn part 1 was a big disappointment for me. Even though it's great to see the characters again, there just isn't enough for them to do in terms of plot in this film. Even though this is based on one of the stronger books in the series it was always going to be difficult to transfer the story to the big screen. It's all a bit "soap opera" for the first hour where very little happens. If you're a fan of the Bella and Edward parts then it's great because they are together for most of the film, just getting married and getting used to being married and all that it brings with it. There is a tagged on action sequence towards the end in an attempt to liven things up a bit even though it… Read more

Bully is a film that grabbed my attention right from the beginning. It's an early film for the likes of Michael Pitt, Nick Stahl and the sadly deceased Brad Renfro. It's an excellent account of a true story and the strength of the film is that it doesn't take sides or force the viewer to either. I found myself able to sympathise and empathise with all of the characters at one time or another. Brad Renfro in particular was excellent in this and Nick Stahl did a great job of evoking sympathy for what was a largely unlikeable character for most of the film. The murder that takes place is actually pretty hard to watch too and has a very strong sense of realism about it. There's nothing… Read more
