Rotring Rapid Adjustment Compass by Rotring
As bad as I am at using one of these it's a useful tool and this is a well made item. It's quite a large compass mostly made of metal and hard plastic. The first compass I ever used would take a pencil on one of the sides but this takes it's own tiny thin lead within the end of one of the legs. This means you'll probably be buying more lead from Rotring (UPDATE - I draw on a regular basis and I haven't even finished one of them so you shouldn't be buying new lead for a long time). Would have been a five star item if it had just kept it simple and let you use your own pencil.

I can't give you a long detailed review of this item because I only got to use it the once. After that it couldn't be recognized on my computer which I later found out that it had been corrupted, typical. At this moment I have got my refund for this but I suggest finding alternatives before spending £50 just to get it back within the week.

It's used either for getting the exact size of a subject or sizing it up. I guess you already know that if your buying this but if not YouTube it. I've just recently started collecting new stationary most of which is Derwent and I'm happy with them but not so much with this. It's made from wood and a screw, that's it. I thought as soon as I got it "I could have made this in craft and design at school" (would have been an easier project to work on for a year). It doesn't tighten all that much and of course being wood,… Read more
