I was never a Beatles fan. Now there's a statement; I loved The Who, The Small Faces, and The Kinks. Period. The Beatles were only ever "OK".
Only ever OK because I never really listened to them; so I get Revolver, Rubber Soul, Sergeant Pepper, The White Album....hang on a minute, I am starting to see the light....then I get Abbey Road. The epitome of musicianship, the parting gesture, the benchmark for all time. You will hear what influenced Queen, 10cc, ELO, Supertramp, this is a real rock landmark and certainly MY favourite Beatles album.
It's the ultimate epitaph to an extraordinary career as a band, and signposts what was to come on the solo front.

BSP are one of those diverse bands that become difficult to pigeon hole, and it is better if you don't. Just take each album in isolation and it is like they reinvent themselves at each attempt.
My previous encounters were the popular "Do You Like Rock Music?" and "The Decline of British Sea Power", two very different albums.
I was intrigued by "Man of Aran" as I vaguely remember seeing the original film many moons ago; what BSP have done is produce a remarkable soundtrack/concept album around the film and with the accompanying DVD a visual interpretation of the original film.
