Blender Master Class: A Hands-On Guide to Modeling&hellip by Ben Simonds
As a newcomer to Blender I was at something of a loss. I had read several items and tutorials online but not progressed too well and so I bought this book.
It is really a guide to making those projects within the book, which I did not copy and make but instead tried making other things. The projects are very well illustrated in colour and it also has a CD with lots of data files.
This book certainly broke the ice for me with its explanations and allowed me to gain a better understanding of modelling and texturing in Blender.
I would recommend it to anyone starting out and trying to make headway in this wonderful but complex software.

Perhaps I have funny feet and ankles but boots of this type tend to be painful at the front of my ankle.
Despite this and as I am walking in every day in all weathers I decided to give these a go. With thicker socks, they are just about usable but I have to admit that I have cast them to one side for the moment, wearing instead, walking shoes and sometimes derri boots.
They seem robust enough and this coming winter I will give them another try.

I bought these to try and stop water getting into walking shoes. They did do this, however, no matter how I adjusted them they would slip down my calves (maybe I need thicker legs?). I also had difficulty attaching them to the shoe lacing.
They proved to be waterproof but a nuisance and so I have not used them a great deal. Nothing has broken on them but they have had little use, so I have no idea of durability.
