3.0 out of 5 stars A bit disappointing, 21 July 2012
I had read all the hype and favourable reviews about this movie and was expecting something outstanding, but sad to say it did not live up to it. The acting was very good with Rachel McAdams as lovely as always - but one thing was missing... if my memory serves me correctly, it wasn't until about 2/3rds of the way through the movie that Leo got around to telling Paige that he loved her! "I love you" are three of the most important words that a woman likes to hear a man say to her. I kept telling leo "Come on man - tell her that you love her" but he never heard me! Perhaps I didn't shout loud enough! LOL. Even the ending seemed a bit weak.

Some people have compared this movie to Avatar - and although Avatar is still tops, I would agree with the comparison.

I have never read ERB's books so I don't know how well this movie follows the book, but regardless of that, this movie totally blew me away. The air battles are magnificent, the plot is good (even my ancient brain could follow it), the acting is superb and Lynn Collins was lovely! The only fault in my opinion, is the way that John Carter makes a few impossible leaps through the air due to the low Martian gravity.

A word of advice to those who haven't yet watched the movie: Take note of the first few minutes of the movie where young Edgar Rice Buroughs… Read more
Terra Nova - The Complete Series [DVD] DVD ~ Jason O'Mara

I can't understand people giving this only one or two stars. This series has the potential to go for many seasons, and so what if there isn't any swearing! There wasn't any (that I can remember) in Star Gate SG1 - and that went on for TEN seasons. As for the weapons only being non-lethal! If you only open your eyes and pay attention you'll see there are lethal weapons. The non-lethal ones are for use against other people. I felt like crying when a friend told me that the series had been cancelled. Why does this world have so many with no imagination? When I think of other wonderful series that have been chopped such as Firefly, then I wonder what really goes on behind the scenes.
