3.0 out of 5 stars A Big Disapointment.., 14 Oct 2009
Hello..Re the remasters..Have bought Revolver-Sgt Pepper and Magical Mystery Tour, and thought I would work my way back through the previous releases starting with this,Rubber Soul..Big mistake..According to the booklet ,the 1987 stereo remix was used for this remaster..Why?..The stereo mix is a joke with 95% of the instruments in the left channel and the vocals in the right, resulting in a terrible balance, with the instruments overpowering a lot of the lead vocals..The Word is a prime example with John Lennons LEAD vocals almost inaudible in the right channel..I can't understand why the original mono recordings are not on general release for the first six albums, instead of only selling them… Read more

As the previous review states..A really great album, that when you consider that it was all, bar one track, recorded on a cassette recorder, is stunning in the sound quality plus star playing by all concerned.....Amazon do not give track list so...1..Do you wanna dance..2..Papa was a rolling stone..3..Jah raggae..4..You been doing something wrong,I can tell by the way you smell..5..Bon temps roulle (old Clifton Chenier number) 6..Alien invasion..7..Quarter of a man..8..Your old lady..9..Turning point..10..I'm a hog for you baby..11..Rave on....Track 7 (quarter of a man)was recorded at a benefit concert rehearsal in 1997 with Ian McLagen on keyboards,Bernie Larson on guitar and Graham Nash… Read more
