I was hooked from the start. The story is immersive and atmospheric. The Director's Cut is a huge improvement over the original.
The author has filled in many of the blanks. The narrative is greatly enhanced.
The opening sequence is eerie, with drifting mist, a haloed moon and a drunken sailor muttering about the lighthouse.
Your character has been blamed for a past horror - and journeys into different time periods, trying to change what happened,
and thereby clearing your name. Why did specific characters disappear?

Without giving away any spoilers I have to say this game is darker, more disturbing and more macabre than any game I've played. It is well written and immersive. I think the author did a brilliant job writing a story that will leave people thinking about it long after they've played it through.
There' s a nice mix of puzzles, from easy to more challenging, that fit the flow of the narrative.
The graphics are great. Exploring the various locations is a visual treat. Even when nothing specific is happening, the evidence of entropy and decay is terrifying. The soundtrack works brilliantly alongside the graphics to convey a feeling of uneasiness and apprehension at all… Read more

I had a wonderful time (although that's perhaps not the best word, given the number of goosebumps on my goosebumps) playing Barrow Hill. This was definitely my cup of tea, though perhaps not from the service station café......
The atmosphere was tense enough to have me looking over my shoulder and jumped out of my chair a few times too. I swear I could almost hear Jack's tambourine from Sapphire and Steel Adventure 6.
