At last it's great to see something of the story behind the film.

So little has been published in the fifty years since it was made that this is a hugely welcome ray of light upon the making of an iconic film of an iconic military action of WWII. There's lots of great backlot stills and technical detail.

If this film/raid interests you then you've got to have this book. I gave it four stars only bcauuse I hungered for more.
Graphic War: The Secret Aviation Drawings and Illu&hellip by Donald Nijboer
5.0 out of 5 stars A beautiful book, 12 Sep 2007
If you enjoy old graphics generally or wartime graphics in particular you'll love this book.

It brings together Allied and Axis information posters and instruction books on the machines of World War II in art-quality rendition. I know of no other similar publication and if you're interested in the documentation of war this is a must-have.

I marvel at what our young men - and theirs - must have learned from the documents depicted herein.
