I was a little taken a-back when I heard there was to be a new Bowes & Morley album. Thunder seemed to be constantly touring last year so I don't know where theyve found the time to fit in the recording...but I'm so glad they did!!
Mo's Barbecue is simply, excellent. Like "moving Swiftly Along" the rock riffs are in short supply, substituted for a much more laid back and slightly funky approach. The covers are superb and Danny's voice, as always, lives up to all expectations. Not a single bad track on the album means its worth every penny and every minute of your time to listen to it.

Simply put, this is Queen laid bare. This is a surprisingly fresh sounding compilation of tracks recorded live for the BBC in the very early 70's, before Queen made the breakthru to commercial success. What can i say?? A cracking collection of 13 new songs! But I have to admit to getting that sinking feeling as Freakshow began at my first time of listening, this has to be the worst track on the album, it sounds jaded and has an eightie's feel to it that isn't retro - just poor.
However, the true quality of this recording kicks in with Hypnotized from there on in it's a rollercoaster ride of extremely funky basslines, some great guitars and the best (living) voice in rock music.
The ballads (as you would expect from these two) are beautiful, not a bad one or overly cheesy one amomgst them (although track 5 comes close "wipe away the cheese in every trace" hhhmm)… Read more
