4.0 out of 5 stars 1-2 1-2-3-4 let's rock, 25 April 2006
Let me say straight away that if this was the first Springsteen album I had ever heard my long passion for his music would never have started. This is Bruce going back to his roots which is a nice tribute but nothing more. When that is said the album does start to grow on you a bit and tracks such as Erie Canal are actually very good. However, this will never be an album that will take permanent position of my CD player in the way The River or Born to run can.

A solid account of some very important days in our recent history. The book gives a very detailed picture of the mood of the war cabinet, the different problems it faced and what discussions arose. The author however sometimes dwells to much on the details, but in all a good and important book for all interested in WWII.
