Wacom Intuos Pro Medium Graphics Tablet by Wacom
This is the latest generation of these tablets which replaces my old one. I am impressed with the usability and option to use the side selection/modification tools. These can be a bit mind bending at first but you get used to them and don't forget you can program them to do what YOU want.
I primarily use this in photoshop for photoretouching but hope to try some digital painting too.
Yamaha P105 Portable Digital Piano - Black by Yamaha
5.0 out of 5 stars Great piano, 22 July 2014
We don't have room for a full size piano so this was our next option. The weighted keys are just nice. Considering the speakers have to deal with outputting a massive dynamic tonal range, they do it really well. I must say the piano sounds best when cranked up...
I've also started using it with my laptop to control izotope iris spectral synth which is out of this world if you like creating new sounds from existing.
Azden FMX-42A Professional Portable Audio Mixer by Azden
I bought this mixer to feed my zoom h4n which benefits greatly from the azdens preamps as I turn the zooms level down to about 38/40, giving a very noisless recording. Ive used it with a senheiser me66/k6, rode nt3 and rode nt4 stereo mic which works brilliantly giving crisp recordings. The mixer has limiters which work well. I feed my zooms phones output back to the mixer so I can check recordings straight away without cable swapping. Ignore the vu meters an set up your record levels using thr tone generator and the levels on your recorder wich is much more accurate. Rick Viers talks about this in his book on location sound mixing, a great book with tons of hints and tips.
