5.0 out of 5 stars beautiful stuff, 19 Jun 2005
Having first heard James Blunt interviewed months and months ago, but not really getting any airplay, I put off buying Back to Bedlam despite the reviews -0f course, it's taken this long for the rest of the media to catch up. I heard 'Goodbye My Lover' playing in a shop last week and just stood still and listened trying to work out who was singing such a gorgeous song. After convincing myself it was Maroon 5, I saw this on display and had to go home and order it online.. during which time 'You're Beautiful' has had loads of airplay and was practically stuck in my head all the time.
When this CD arrived yesterday, it turned out to be the day after someone I knew just buried her… Read more

Considering how long i've been listening to her last album, it was kinda hard to imagine Shelby Lynne teaming up with Glenn Ballard, of all people. I'm not sure what i expected of this album, but I can say it wasn't disappointing. Just different. I listened to it comparing it to This Is.... just because i loved that so much, and that was where this whole style started out.
I think the thing that hit you about This Is... was that every song hit you every time you heard it - especially Your Lies. As an opener, Trust Me is completely different; all soft spoken intro that gets louder later... Bend is very much in the vein of Thought it Would be Easier musically, but the lyrics are… Read more
