Living in a rural area, broadband isn't really an option, as a carrier pigeon would be faster. So, as I'm fed up with having to take my Kindle with me when I go out at lunchtime / weekends, this was a good option. I didn't know what to expect from this, as it was a new (to me) author. So, I downloaded it to my kindle, and forgot all about it, until the other day. Then got stuck in, and read the book in two days.
It's an incredibly detailed book, with nice little touches, such as references to current events in Afghanistan, and events within Italy, as well as touching some nastier elements from recent history.
The events are easy to follow, and the writing style flows really well, with believable (and likeable) characters. So, in summary, a really well written, and thought provoking thriller - and I look forward to reading more from Mr Holt!
