I loved this book. I am a recent mother and found I could relate to many aspects of this story.
It manages to be funny and yet very touching and realistic.
I would be surprised if any mother didn't enjoy this one. I heard Nicole Kidman wanted to star in a film version.
I'm not sure this book could be enjoyed to its fullest if you are not a mother but you have any compassion then you will love the tenderness in this book.
Basically it is a story about a woman who works full time and feels very guilty but also looks at general parenting.

I have read most of the weaning books & information that is readily available and this is one of the best.
The information that is given regarding getting started is useful & simple though if you are wanting something more in depth then you would be better off with the Gina Ford Weaning guide.
The food plans were not for us as my son's feeding schedule didn't seem to fit but that doesn't mean it won't work for you.
The very best thing about this book is the recipes. If you are planning to make you own babyfood then do not be without this book the recipes are imaginative & tasty.
After all if this book is good enough for Jamie Olivers children...

If you are at all concerned about allergies, how to get started or have got started but are having problems this book can really help.
It literally is a plan for each day for the first year. Unlike in her other books Gina does state that this book is a guide as all babies have different appetites. So do bear this in mind.
We started off following the plans but my son soon got to grips with… Read more
