Garden in the City, A by Gerda Muller
Garden in the City, A by Gerda Muller
One to grow with the child. My 2-year-old has been very interested in this for almost a year, and it will probably interest him for another 5 or more years! The illustrations are accurate to nature, plenty to discover and discuss. The story is simple enough for young ones to follow, yet has details to grow into for older children - history, how seeds and bulbs grow, feeding birds, pollinating flowers.

I have bought this second hand for four friends with little ones! Every family should have it.

Your Yoga Birthguide: The Essential Reference for &hellip by Jenny Beeken
This is ideal for any pregnant woman. The postures given are taught safely and chosen well (unlike many pregnancy Yoga books, in my opinion). The postures are taught with good attention to detail, so women can make the most of the practices. The book includes inspiration and quotes to support deepening of the (spiritual/psychological) experience of pregnancy.

Succinct, focussed, well written.

I recommend this book to all the women to whom I teach pregnancy Yoga.

Firstly, the content of the book is too large to be focussed- the author attempts to put the whole of Yoga into one volume, and suffers lack of focus on what it should be on, according to the title. It introduces all the basic tenets of Yoga, and gives postures and practices for women. I was seeking what the title says - mystical wisdom specific to pregnancy and motherhood. If you had no access to any other books on Yoga or pregnancy, this… Read more
