Back in the late 80s, I got into Lindisfarne. This was for a short period. I was en route to folkrock, got to Lindisfarne first, but then discovered heaven in the form of Fairport, Steeleye, etc.
I had a few Lindisfarne albums on vinyl and was very taken with the first few - not so much with the latter ones. Anyway, I never got any CDs, until recently when I found this 3CD set at a bargain price. Ah, vintage Lindisfarne, I thought, a 3CD compilation is probably exactly what I need. I once saw Lindisfarne again live just before Alan Hull passed away, and remained fairly unimpressed. Still, those first few albums eh.
