AM PM Yoga For Beginners [DVD] [2009] DVD ~ Bodywisdom Media

I got this DVD when I was a complete beginner to yoga (had never done it before) and I found the PM routines excellent. Lots of good stretches and twists. Every move is explained in detail.

The pace is *very* slow with every move explained in detail. This is good for complete beginners but after a while it feels like a 10 minute routine has been dragged out into 20 minutes. For stretches, this is good, but for the AM routines it can make a simple routine very strenuous. For example, the sun salutation is a 15 minute routine! Holding the poses for this long makes it more difficult and requires much more strength than moving at a faster pace. Some of the PM routines are more like… Read more
Knitted Vegetables (Twenty to Make) by Susie Johns
What a lovely book!

I am only an amateur knitter and had never knitted with double pointed needles before, but I found the patterns easy to follow. The book does call for a variety of different wools and needles, however I have been 'cheating' with silly colours (pink and blue tomatoes) and only one size of need for the round work. Still, it all turns out looking really good - I bet it's amazing if you actually do it properly.

I'll definitely buy more of this series once I am done knitting veggies.

3.0 out of 5 stars A harmless, fun book, 25 Mar 2006
I really enjoyed reading this.
It's not a book that will keep you guessing or provide any intellectual challenge, but if you're looking for an afternoon with a relaxing book then this is it.
While the plot is a little weak, the characters are mostly lovable and the pace (at only ~200 pages) doesn't keep you waiting. It also DOES give a decent insight into the modern girls life. There is nothing profound... but it takes a few (valid) shots at the "work hard, play hard" lifestyle.
I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good relaxing read with no taxing twists.
