Track 2, 'Access Denied ', is crap.
Still its less than 4 minutes and can easily be skipped.
The rest is just jaw droppingly wonderful. The sonic landscapes are of a stark, barren beauty with fantastic playing, cut down and uncluttered.

Technically one cannot fault this, the playing and production are excellent.
I just don't like it.
One could compare it to going to a fine dining restaurant, excellent chefs and ingredients but despite all the accolades and awards, to my palatte it doesn't work.
The Raven is good, the Watchmaker starts fine but drifts into self indulgence. The rest are examples of why Prog Rock in the 70s was so derided, too clever by half. If ELP and most of King Crimson, the exception being In the Court of the Crimson King - a classic of the genre, are not to your taste then be careful of this one.

A respectable piece of kit that does what it says on the box, Blu Ray excellent and the way it improves DVD playback is exceptional. Access to the BBC iPlayer is also good.
But heres the thing...
It comes at a very reasonable price but its the kit you have to get around it that will get expensive. Don't have a full HD TV then why get Blu Ray? Most sound quality from TVs is just not that good so you'll have to export to your HiFi system. Oh and your amp is old so you'll have to get one that can taken HDMI input which will give you full surround sound. That means more expense on centre and rear speakers. And thats before you add in the extra cost of Blu Ray discs over DVDs. Its the… Read more
