I have read all the previous Welsh novels and enjoyed them.
Something has gone wrong here though. It has taken me over 2 months to read this turgid rubbish. Page by eye wateringly dull page I dragged myself to the end.
This is an overlong short story; 20 pages would have been enough.
There is no character development, no great story, and if you are desperate to read it, start at page 300, you will miss nothing.
At the end I felt I had wasted 2 valuable reading months, and the story's climax was so flat and pointless.
Please can we have a return to the quality and depth and interest of the first two novels?

Possibly the most average album; such a disappointing follow up to DYLRM. This feels like it should have been a follow up to The Decline of. It is directionless, a step into musical retreat where previously there was progression.
There are perhaps 3 interesting tracks, the rest is forgettable drivel. Avoid.

2.0 out of 5 stars Magnificent it is not, 2 Mar 2009
From Boy to No Line, I have bought U2 albums on the day of release, and liked most to varying degrees. Today I bought No Line and for the first time I struggling to like a U2 album.
I will give it time, I will play it again and again, but where as normally I find 4 or 5 immediate great songs on an album, here I cannot find more than one. Much appears to be a re-working of previous material and that is when I struggle with U2.
The opening song....I find disappointing...Bono singin Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh...there is too much of this on the album ..they can do better than this.
Magnificent is just City of Blinding Light rewritten...such laziness is unforgivable, but it is not a bad song,… Read more
