5.0 out of 5 stars The Next Big Thing?, 10 Jun 2003
I certainly hope so! This single is one of the finest debut singles you will ever hear. A summery, jolly musical style betrays dark lyrics about bingeing on cocaine. And it works wonderfully. The B-sides are great too, as are the other songs they've been playing live. Buy this single, and say you were there from the start, because if there's any justice in the world at all, Ambershades are going to be massive.

This film gets one star on the basis that Amazon won't let you give minus figures. A film other reviewers have described as 'tense' and 'powerful' is better described as 'tedious' and 'story improbable, borderline laughable'. The plot has holes you can drive a fleet of buses through, the 'tense atmosphere' is provided by dull lingering close-ups of Mel Gibson's confused-looking face and the script is dodgy at best. Suspense is provided in spades, as the audience wonder whether something interesting is likely to happen soon. As it happens, about the most dramatic point of the film is the point at which Gibson throws a tantrum involving mashed potato. No, really!
It would be funny if… Read more
