... except that Iam an aviation enthusiast and a rather picky reader. And I just could not put this book down - I even read it at work, hidden behing a pile of correspondence :)
Well written, entertaining, honest, and informative - I happen to be an engineer, but I thing even the lay(wo)man, the few technical descriptions are not too boring.
Best read since "Skunkworks" by Ben R. Rich and Leo Janos.

One of the best books on photography I own. I bought is as a result of browsing around in a bookstore, so no pre-bias in purchase. Very interesting images, entertaining and illuminating text.
Many people complain he author only recomends buying expensive gear. I disagree. Yes, he describes concrete situations using one of the leading brands as an example, but everything he writes can be used even if you only own a manual SLR (like I do, for instance)
Overall, I can highly recommend.
