The Book of Summers is a wonderfully enchanting book that I could not stop reading once I had picked it up. Beautifully written, the book just takes you on its wings on its journey into balmy, emotive Hungarian summers. The relationship thread between father and daughter is so deftly written, I was in tears almost everytime I was reading of it. A book I won't forget.

What a book! This is a very slow burning thriller that eventually sucks you in completely. I finished this in a day as I could not put this down... Julia Crouch has crafted a dizzingly good thriller that takes in love, lust, family and friendship... questioning every characters sanity with the reader never knowingly sure who is going to be the victim of the eventful crime.

Annabel is a moving and enjoyable read- set in the wonderully described Canadian wilderness. My only problem with the novel is that the last third is not as powerful, it loses its momentum. And the ending is all too near perfect. Not surprised that it lost the award for the Orange prize for fiction this year. Still, the author is on my radar as her writing style is plain yet utterly engaging.
