An enjoyable book detailing the everyday life of Cornish railways mainly in the 80s and 90s. The author writes with a knowledgable interest about his job and his duties.
A few criticisms. Too much is written about the history of loco's featured in the photos. There would seem to be plenty that could be said about the location and the activities that took place there but wasn't. The allocation history of the loco taking precedent instead.
Excellent section on Cornish signalling (the reason I bought the book) but alas it's quite short. Most of the boxes featured are still with us today (but not much longer) so I suppose it pays homage to them. Some excellent shots of Truro with 2… Read more
