Morag Joss always writes beautifully with vivid descriptions, and this book was no exception. The idea was original, and even though I guessed what Lila would discover about Joe from the first, I looked forward to the drama that was to come. The story had great pace and the tension built steadily with every page; so I felt robbed at the damp squib that was the climax of the book, and felt that so much more could have been done with it. I also found some of the characters a bit one-dimensional and under-used in the story.
Not her best, but still worth a read.
