5.0 out of 5 stars What an Album..., 10 Mar 2014
I loved their previous two Albums, especially Firestone, this however is a different beast altogether.
I can't believe no one else on here has reviewed it yet.
Simply put this a a perfect blend of southern, country, blues and rock n roll.
There are no weak tracks, and plenty of standouts.
Think along the lines of Blackberry Smoke, The Cadillac Three, The Black Crowes and you're not far away.
But by no means a copycat of any of the above, Whiskey have their own definitive sound.

When I first heard this record, I thought what the hell direction has Israel taken, it's dreary and murky in comparison to his two previous records, it's definitely not as easily accessibly.

However.....

Like many things in life perseverance reaps its rewards. It's a bold move from Israel to move into this new direction. The sounds are much more layered and multiplied, the vocals much deeper in the mix.

The tone of the record is very much in tune with itself, indeed this is an album to be listened to in its entirety rather than a collection of songs. Israel and his band are painting landscapes with their sounds.

This is quite a stunning piece of… Read more
The Shield: Complete Seasons 1-7 [DVD] [2011] DVD ~ Michael Chiklis
Not only is this the greatest cop show ever made by a country mile but I have it up there with the Sopranos, The Wire and Breaking Bad as the greatest TV show ever.

The Shield has it all a fantastic cast, interesting characters, great guest appearances (Forrest Whittaker esp), cracking plotlines and IMO a very appropriate ending.

If somehow you've managed to overlooked this show and are a fan of the others I've mentioned do yourself a favor and pick it up.
