After reading other reviews of this book, I was intrigued to find out what my view would be. As an avid Adams fan, I had my reservations. First and foremost, Colfer is a brilliant author. I like his writing and I liked the pace of the book. The idea that he is continuing the series is a good one, Adams himself stating many times that he wanted to write a 6th book. You can tell by reading it that Colfer is fan and that he really wants to do Adams' work justice. This is a good book in itself.

this is not a good Hitchhiker's book. Not in any sense. Colfer has taken the characters, settings and places and made them his own, this is a real problem. The book has… Read more

Russian history between the red revolution and the second world war can be summed up by the sweeping metaphor that is Animal Farm. The language is simple, reflecting perhaps the simple minds of the animal characters and their interactions. This simplicity however is perfect, Orwell manages to write complexity with astounding ease in this way.
A short book (I conquered it in 2 hours), no doubt you will go back to read it again and again to fully appreciate the historically chilling context, subtle messages and fantastic use of English. Simply Brilliant.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must for any fan, 15 July 2010
Lets not beat about the bush, this book is long. I loved every panel. The artwork is wonderful and the storyline is exciting from start to finish. There is a minor lull in the middle and you may be frustrated by the absence of some characters but the climax is stunning and entirely believable. Beware though, it will make you want to buy every story running up to "Secret Wars" to understand all the motivations of both the heroes and villains.
Simply wonderful.
