5.0 out of 5 stars (500) Days of Summer, 28 Sep 2009
This soundtracks is fabulous, start to finish. The first track is the voice over from the film, and that sets the tone entirely for the soundtrack, a mixture of optimistic songs, hopeful music, mixed with "sad" British pop music (here represented by The Smiths). It really does contain a collection of excellent songs that capture the tones set in the film prefectly. For those that don't own the majority of the songs already, I urge you to buy it, and see the film. If you alread have all these songs, you will love the film. I have listened to this disc dozens of times since seeing the film, forsaking all else. That is a testament to it's quality.

5.0 out of 5 stars Now Then..., 6 Nov 2006
I have been a huge fan of The Long Blondes for a long time now, and this has to be one of my most eagerly anticipated albums ever. And it does not disappoint at all. Each of the old tracks on this album like 'Spearated by Motorways', 'Lust in the Movies', 'Giddy Stratospheres', 'Madame Ray', 'Swallow Tattoo' and 'A Knife for the Girls' have been re-recorded from the initial single releases / demos and sound utterly fantastic. I have not been able to find a song that I don't love entirely.

And to the reviewer below...they must have improved live because I saw them a week or so ago, and they were utterly brilliant, blew me away.

Buy this CD.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not Great...Not Bad, 26 July 2006
I bought this for my Summer holiday, as it seemed by the blurb it would be a really good read. It was a nice easy book to read...though I feel it wasn't gripping, and in places I was very nearly bored. And I think that the ending was way too predictable, almost dreadful. Even I could have thought of a better character for it to have been. Alas. I guess thats how things go with books.

If you are looking for a simple, easy to read and guess book. Get this. If you are looking for an exciting book. Get something else. I suggest The Lion's Game by Nelson DeMille.
