La Flak de la Leibstandarte: 1.SS-Panzer-Division &hellip by Pierre Tiquet
5.0 out of 5 stars A Good Photo Album., 17 Sep 2014
Firstly - it's in French. The good news is - this is mainly a photo album consisting of 'unofficial' snapshots taken by the soldiers themselves. The result is quite fascinating to browse through with photos of weapons, transport, half-tracks and the men of the Leibstandarte ; including some nice snapshots of Sepp Dietrich on his many unit visits. Quality and reproduction are well up to the usual Heimdal standard. A nice book to have on the shelf !

And I do !
I have a very soft-spot for Heimdal titles and this one is a good addition to their list. It's not so much a technical guide or full history, it's more a collection of snapshots taken by the soldiers themselves. As such, these are fascinating 'unofficial' images and are very well reproduced. Most, if not all, I have never seen published before. Text is in French but really - it's a picture book and makes wonderful browsing. It feels a little more 'padded' than the companion Leibstandarte title and the maps are very indistinct. Recommended nonetheless - better still, buy them both !
Germany's Panther Tank: The Quest for Combat Supre&hellip by Thomas L. Jentz
I had put off purchasing this book for some time - it's not cheap. I shan't repeat what the other reviewers have said ; it's the one to have if you really want to know about the Panther. I've always been confused about the different models - this book clarifies everything, with superb illustrations. A technical book rather than an armchair read - but very highly recommended.
