Dr Zigs Giant Dragon Bubble - Starter Kit by Dr Zigs
5.0 out of 5 stars Purpose achieved, 18 Aug 2013
One small child running around in the garden in open-mouthed astonishment at the huge colourful bubbles floating just over his head. Excellent. There's a bit of a knack to it, and not all my attempts were successful, but it certainly works, and some of the bubbles were very impressive - floating up and away over the trees before bursting. Having read reviews of the trouble people have had getting the right detergent formula to use, I'm very happy I bought this kit.

This is not a bad book. Really, it's not. But having read the wonderful "Notes from an Exhibition" I was hoping for something more. This book just isn't at the same level. It is clearly the work of a talented writer: the descriptions are vivid, the prose well-constructed and some of the scenes are genuinely heart-touching, particularly the closing chapter. But the main characters are unsympathetic, their behaviour is inconsistent and the plot is preposterous; the "twists" at the end come as a disappointment. It's almost as if a good writer has been handed a plot outline written by someone else entirely, and is struggling to make the best of a bad brief. If you're looking to try one… Read more

I bought this because my eyes are failing, and I have a need to examine small electronic components and point out errors in soldering to students in my work. After reading the reviews on several magnifiers, I picked this one, and I'm very pleased with it. It has excellent resolution and magnification, the LED lighting is a great asset, and all students who've seen it so far are intrigued and impressed. It folds up neatly, protecting the lenses, and makes reading tiny writing on surface mount components and convincing students that they do actually have a solder bridge in the work much easier. It's great. Recommended.
