Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
Overall this is a good book that does really interesting things with unreliable narrator and has some refreshing insights into relationships and what it means to be a man and a woman in the 21st century. The first half had me gripped. However, the second half really lost me and never got me back - I personally have quite a low tolerance for elaborate plans that rely entirely on being able to predict someone's reactions and unfortunately there is a bit of that here. Still worth a read though.
Unusual Uses For Olive Oil: A Von Igelfeld Novel (&hellip by Alexander Mccall Smith
5.0 out of 5 stars A return to form, 24 Mar 2014
I've been waiting for another von Igelfeld Entertainment for ages, and I wasn't disappointed. The blundering, awkward scholar of Romance philology is back in a new series of misadventures. Alexander McCall Smith is wonderfully dry as he affectionately subjects his hero to one faux pas after another.
The Rough Guide to Walks in London and Southeast E&hellip by Helena Smith
The directions simply are not as clear as they could be. Every walk I've been on has had a degree of ambiguity and I usually get slightly lost on every walk. Admittedly I don't have the best sense of direction but the directions should be straightforward enough for that not to matter. I've used the Time Out walks on a number of occasions without encountering similar difficulties so would definitely recommend one of those books instead.
