I am a big Sony fan so it pains me to give this item 1 star. This is a lovely item in all respects except for one fundamental flaw that basically renders it useless and I am frankly shocked that Sony have allowed this item to be distributed with such a major shortcoming. The Wi-Fi issue that you can read about in reviews here on Amazon, or on forums across the web in general, is real. The first unit I had from Amazon developed the problem in 4 days. No amount of trouble-shooting could resolve it. The unit would simply not talk to the BT Home Hub Wi-Fi router when all other items in the household do with no problem. After 3 years suffering at the hands of a shockingly bad HP laptop (that'll teach me to try and save a few pounds & I'll never touch another piece of HP kit as long as I live having found their printers these days to be similarly appalling) I finally returned to my much-missed Sony Vaio quality and boy am I glad I did. I have the i7 version of this machine and have had it for around 2 months now. I love it because it just does what it should. Nothing flashy - everything just works without any hanging, freezing or fuss. This version is incredibly fast & very stable. The laptop feels very light, but all components (especially keyboard) feel reassuringly robust and have that lovely "quality"… Read more
