First Activation: A Post Apocalyptic Thriller by Darren Wearmouth

I'm probably going to be condemed for saying this but I feel I need too... Reading the reviews for this book, I am stunned by the fact that no one at all mentions how many times the f word appears.. I know that this is a scenerio where people would swear profanities but to have the f word repeated and repeated is just so monotonous & unexciting for me. In fact, this book would have been more believable if there was no swearing in it at all! The author(s) really ought to take a leaf out of the books of Charles Brokaw where instead of actually swearing in his books, he states things like (for example) "he cursed...", which is perfect.. To start with, I really do not enjoy criticising authors as I know they put alot of work into their books and I'm sure that Charles Brokaw has worked very hard to please every single one of us readers.. Thomas just went on and on and on about it. In fact, I was beginning to actually skim through whole paragraphs rather than reading the book properly. For me, there was too much "theory" and not enough "action". For those who did enjoy… Read more

This is a very good album with one exception - The artist of this album should be "California Transit Authority, Bill Champlin & Will Champlin". I guess Danny Seraphine is very good friends with Bill Champlin and that is highlighted on this album. Will Champlin has great vocals on "Sacred Ground" & it could be my favourite track, aong with "Out of Reason". However, Bill's ballad is a catchy number BUT I do think the song "Full Circle" ruins the flow of the creativity that is CTA. I admit that I do love Will's vocals on "Sacred Ground" but I wish Bill could have just kept on background vocals only and placed CTA centre stage. Of course, I had no… Read more
