having read both of Karen's previous lovely books of life in rural France and sharing her love of the French way of life and its idiosyncracies, particularly her love of the Poitou Charentes region, I felt that in some ways she had become a friend and soulmate and that we had a shared common interest. Without wishing to give too much away to new readers all I can say is that I broke my heart for her and anyone reading this book needs to have a full box of tissues to hand. I wish Karen all the best and can only hope that she can find it in herself to write a fourth book.

A very good follow up to Tout Sweet. The author paints a good picture of life in rural France and of the beautiful Poiteau Charentes region. Amusing stories of her quest for love and delightful accounts of her falling in love with her friend's dog who eventually claims her for his own! Recommended for anyone who loves France.

A highly amusing and informative account of the purchase and restoration of a French property. Lots of helpful advice regarding buying a property in France and of the differences in property law and building regulations. Written in a most amusing way - it has made me laugh out loud.
