Bowers & Wilkins A7 Wireless Music System B&W by Bowers & Wilkins

Having researched and listened to a number of iPod speakers, I settled on the A7. The clarity and depth of sound is second to none whilst the design is simple and not over-stated.

It is true that the stereo separation is limited as the speakers are in a single unit, however, the musical quality more than compensates for this. I compared it to my old Denon hi-fi with Mission speakers and found the sound to be brighter and warmer. If, like me, you love true sound reproduction, then these headphones are for you. As you would expect from reference standard headphones, they provide crystal clear clarity that lets you hear every detail. The bass is solid without the exaggerated boom of many other headphones. However, if you looking for something to shake the crockery from your neighbours dresser or want to be bombarded from all directions by a wall of sound when fighting the latest space battle, then look elsewhere.
The T40s are slightly narrower and taller than the Z-10s and have an external transformer which can give off a slight hum although you wouldn't notice it as it is quieter than the background noise from your typical PC. The Z-10s transformer is built into one of the speakers… Read more
