I bought this book together with the Fat Duck Cookbook, and although I loved both, this is by far the one I would recommend to everyone.
This book shows you how much care and time it takes to prepare perfect simple (well, not really simple) family meals: you will be surprised by the number of passages you should follow to create the crispiest fries for example, or just amazed by the smoothness and gorgeous balance of the soups!
Heston is a perfectionist, so the book couldn't be but perfect: no mysterious descriptions of procedures that you have to guess, no exotic ingredients that you'll never find, simply the true, better way to do something.
