4.0 out of 5 stars A good, if quick, read, 16 Jan 2013
This book is about real life mysteries and the theories and solutions people have put forward for them.
Included are the jfk assassination, jack the ripper, who wrote shakeapeare ?, did richard III kill the princes in the tower ?, did jesus marry and survive the crucifixion and the pyramids.
Each subject is allotted about 30 pages and the author sets out the mystery and the ideas and solutions put forward for them.
One theme running through the book is that trained, academic historians have stayed away from these subjects as though they have the plague and its been left to amateur historians to explore them.
This book is quite short and i read it quite quickly. I love… Read more
The Riddle and the Knight: in Search of Sir John M&hellip by Giles Milton
4.0 out of 5 stars a good read, 16 Jan 2013
I really enjoyed this book. It looks into the life and adventures of sir john mandeville, and whether he did really go to the places he writes about in his medieval book. I enjoy the combination of travelogue and historical detective work and found some of the places giles visits fascinating.
This book is a good, engrossing but easy read.
Denying History: Who Says the Holocaust Never Happ&hellip by Michael Shermer

This is an excellent survey of a controversial subject. This book looks at those who deny the holocaust, such as david irving and pulls apart their case. It looks in detail at holocaust denial and debunks the denier's arguments.

It provides all the evidence you need to prove to anyone that the holocaust did happen. On top of this it also looks at other debates, such as hitler's knowledge of the holocaust. It covers all the angles and debates really well.
