Very readable and several nice twists. Wanting to read the next book, if there is to be one. I think it works whether or not you have played Elite.

As a teacher trained in the early 70s and a teacher since this book resonated completely with me. Hindsight is wonderful and what was happening to teachers and how we were being mislead was just not apparent. The incorrect views of how children learn were deeply embedded into our teacher DNA that it was not possible to even think about questioning these beliefs. One can see how we were sold these damaging beliefs and how this supported the publishing end of the profession. Having also taught in London for part of my career the names are ones I know, and some I know so well. Whatever your beliefs you really should read this book.
