Alone [DVD] [2007]

This film is rubbish. Where it struggles to rise above cliche it becomes the most cliched film I've seen in a long time. Somebody tell this director that weird camera angles and "edgy" music combigned with so so POV shots do not a great thriller make. And the ending was so obvious as to be pointless in the extreme. And why oh why did Rick Wakeman want to play an 0898 calling, pocket billiards playing hospital security guard?
Do not buy, rent or borrow this film...it only encourages 'em to make more of the same bilge. Avoid.
Bride [DVD] [1985] [Region 1] [US Import] [NTSC] DVD ~ Sting

This film shouldn't work but it does...brilliantly! Sting is a bit bit wooden as usual but he doe deliver a couple of lines well especially the classic reply to the female creatures ire at being told what to do " You didn't make me " " As a matter of fact, I did".

Clancy Brown is a superb Frankenstein creature and the scenes with his friend David Rappaport are full of pathos and understanding.

The music by Maurice Jarre is excellent too.
