The musical tracks on this album are each outstanding examples of Santana's 'interim' period. Full of experimentation and abounding with sheer musical joy and virtuosity, it's one of those rare things — an album which is more than just music.
But along with all that wonderful, breathless power comes intros and outros that are altogether too 'annoying' in nature for me. He did the same with his Caravanserai album... it is fortunate that the band's collective brilliance somehow remains undamaged by their occasional departure from it.
Completely recommended.

If you have a computer able to run this game (one not just fast enough, also equipped with the 'right' hardware) you will get a very pretty game to show for it. Control stuttering during low-level strafing is a problem, helped a little by the official patch but still evident and still the cause of too many unreal ground collisions.
The flight models for some of the aircraft are very good, aerodynamically. The Spitfire handles like a Spitfire, the Tempest handles like a Tempest. As much as I love Santana's music, when he's tried to get 'popular' it's somehow never worked. Supernatural is primarily a collaboration album with guests fronting the band one by one in set-piece numbers. The 2002 album Shaman was another collaboration which, to my ear, worked well and had much genuine musical quality to back up the collaborations. But Supernatural simply doesn't work at any level. Its lacklustre collection of guest 'stars' all sound out of place here, and most fail to make anything of the humdrum material. Even Clapton seems out of his depth with an untidy, careless performance. At no stage in the collaborations did I feel that any… Read more
