I already have the Sigma 85mm f1.4, but I wanted a fast, wide lens for environmental portraits. I hadn't read a single negative (or even neutral) review, so I purchased my copy from Amazon.
Well I've had it a week now and it's my new favourite. The lens has a great aesthetic, with a milled metal Zeiss-like quality to it (why can't Sigma be consistent about design). The glass is eyelash sharp, colours very naturalistic and falloff beautiful. Close focussing is also quite possible - not up to the Canon 24L, but I still managed to fill the frame with my subject's face.
I don't own any other glass with a 67mm filter thread, so the B+W was another expense.
