5.0 out of 5 stars Thankyou again., 28 Nov 2012
Thankyou again Mr Turney for another excellent read. You just do not have a weakness at all in the Marius's mules series. The lead charachter, his close circle, the enemy, the plots & sub plots, the intrigue, the guessing game to the end of each book. You have a gift when it comes to writing, one that i am very happy to share. I have read 4 of the 'Fronto' books and have loved every one. The books are not short stories or appetisers they are big sprawling exciting, colourful epics. Long may you find storylines and flashes of the same excellence. Again-thankyou Mr Turney.

4.0 out of 5 stars Ranulf 2., 5 Sep 2012
The second of Mr Browns books i have read. The first(Housecarl)i enjoyed, the second was even better. Linking two strands of the Norman invasion i found excellent. Ranulf wanting to avenge Hastings, and hereward the wake avenging lost family. This book beefed out ranulf and put a heart into the warrior and killing machine. There was hardly a hiccup in the excitement and swiftly moving story line. I will eagerly await the next installment now Ranulf is overseas. It's a great pity Mr Brown didn't give Hereward the wake his own story prior to meeting Ranulf, i think it would have been a cracking yarn.

4.0 out of 5 stars escapism, 27 Aug 2012
I tend to like what i know and know what i like. 'Housecarl' to me was bread and butter reading. If i wanted precise accuracy in my choice of reading i would expect to pay-20 to 30 pound. For 1.53 i expect excitement, fast paced plots, flowing style and based in fact. Mr Brown supplied all the ingredients i look for. . .and then some. I have already bought the next book to follow Ranulf into the fens. After saying what i have said i cannot take away from the fact for 1.53 this book will stay on my kindle and i will revisit it again in the future. Not all of the e-books i buy stay with me, this one will.
