I read Dark Eden recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was hooked on these short stories and quickly bought The Peacock Cloak when I had finished. These are easy to read stories, I enjoyed his vision of the future and of other worlds.

I bought this wagon 2 weeks ago after seeing a friend on the beach with hers. It's excellent. I am a mum of 4 small kids living beside a beach for the summer. Every day last year I dragged/carried the following to and from the beach - 3 body boards, 5 wetsuits, towels, swim gear, a large picnic, 2 folding chairs, flasks of tea and bottles of water and a bag of buckets and spades. I was like a donkey. Some bags on my back, some balanced on a buggy, some slung over my arm. It was a 10 minute hell of a walk with all that gear. At the same time trying to coax 4 kids along, bribing them to carry things, shouting to stop dragging the body boards, pick up their shoes, careful of the cars… Read more

I have recently starting dipping my toe into dystopian fiction with Margaret Atwood and Liz Jensen, Paolo really is full immersion. This is an excellent book, rich in colour, smells, sounds, characters and fast paced story development. Set in a Bangkok of the future where the world has been devastated by constantly mutating plagues, wars and climate change. Oil has run out, the kingdom of Thailand for its very survival has cut itself off from the rest of the world. It is a seedy, filthy, corrupt, cruel and dangerous kingdom. Everything we take for granted today, our technology, our food, comforts, travel and health have been destroyed and replaced by famine, limited food stocks, coal… Read more
