Ideal lifting/storing device for bikes, this also works for raising one end of a canoe into the rafters for storage (the other end being on a fixed sling). Since the device in only supporting 50% of the canoe weight, it is well within the rated lift capacity. Almost perfect solution except for: 1. Needs addition of a cleat to tie off the end of the string - I don't trust the built-in brake to hold it indefinitely. 2. Side to side stability must be provided manually as the coanoe is raised. Otherwise the pulley system can allow the canoe to rotate about the long axis.
Having already "hoovered" the house with its predecessor the same day that this machine arrived, I was startled to see an almost full dust collector on the new machine after just a couple of rooms. Excellent monoeuverability and really gets up close to the furniture. Well done again Mr Dyson.
