I bought this on Kindle, even though it's expensive, because I'd read the first fifty pages as a promotional booklet and was hooked. But by the end I found the characters - except perhaps Jolyon - two dimensional and the plot unlikely. I don't mind suspending disbelief for a really thrilling read, but I wasn't convinced that this was. Maybe the elapsed fourteen years played a part, maybe the lack of depth of the female characters. And what was Chad's big secret? It didn't seem enough, somehow. All kudos to the author for drawing me in, but I'd have liked more.
