5.0 out of 5 stars Very funny, 17 Aug 2012
21 Jump Street is a very funny cop-buddy comedy. There are great comic performances all round from the two leads and also Ice Cube in particular. The jokes make it aware that the filmmakers know they are shamelessly rehashing an old TV show and that is part of what makes it funny. The big surprise for me was how funny Channing Tatum was. I'd never seen him in a comedy before and had no idea he had such great comic timing. This film is much better than I expected.

5.0 out of 5 stars A refreshing change, 15 Jan 2012
Drive won't be everyone's cup of tea but it is a breath of fresh air. A fairly basic storyline has been developed into something much more thought provoking than could have been expected. Ryan Gosling's "Driver" is the classic "Man with no name" from an old western. He appears in town with no back story, speaks minimally and deals with bad guys in extremely violent ways. This is no Fast & Furious movie. At times it's slow paced and it's stylised to look like an eighties movie, complete with regular musical montages. The film is split into two acts, the first hour is a steady build up, high on atmosphere, the last half hour or so is a violent revenge story. The film ends leaving the viewer… Read more
